Namood A Saher
New Year Calendar
For this project I was tasked with designing a 1 page 2025 calendar. The aim of this project was to challenge ourselves and learn how far we can push our typography to create objects that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are legible, practical, and useful as organizational objects within a design system. To achieve this, we defined and utilized the grid as a design tool to help manage complex amounts of information while creating design research objects that reference historical vernaculars.
In order to help complete this assignment successfully, we started a researching and experimenting focused on identifying fonts that can be functional and attractive. Looking through adobe fonts, we created a list of 8 fonts we were interested in working with.
We begun working with the grid, using the fonts we researched. In order to understand their limitations and the translation from screen to print, we created a series of experimental specimen charts as a research archive.
