Map of my Childhood
The goal of this project was to design a map that portrays a place or route that I knew well. The decisions involved in designing a map were investigated through this project. I chose to portray an abstrct map of my childhood. I wanted to go back into time and look at how I saw the world around me. Since my concept of location was very abstract as a child, I took inspiration from that, creating a map that merged routes and cities into one another but were still somewaht realistic to where they actually show up in reality. The final piece was designed to be printed 12x18 size.
